Meet the Team: Margot Warre

Our mission at Blinds in Print is to turn the humble, one colour roller blind, from a fitting to a feature of your home or office!

As a part of that we've built a team of design consultants to curate our collection of designs and colours - to find the perfect balance between being on trend and timeless.

Key to this team is Margot Warre.

Margot has designed collections for some of the industry leaders, such as Mokum Textiles, Warwick Fabrics and Sheridan. And has collaborated with some of Australia’s leading creative’s on niche projects, such as artwork for the Intercontinental Dubai and with artist, Craig Ruddy. Her designs have been released in over 50 countries and she was nominated by The Age newspaper as one of Australia’s design “Trail blazers – who are conquering the world”.

Generations of Margot’s family have been passionate about art, design, colour and textiles. Her grandmother was one of the founding partners of the icon White Ivy lingerie store in Double Bay. Growing up in such as world has had a strong influence on her and her life as a designer. It also lead to some of the most extraordinary travels and adventures.

Early in her career she moved to Paris where she studied textiles at Parsons School of design. Living in a postage stamp sized roof top apartment near Sacre Coeur, she was walking distance to the textile markets – where there was so much pattern and colour.

Textiles became the constant thread of her career and travels. Margot started designing collections for some of the industry leaders in Australia and she was soon in Europe on the shores of Lake Como talking colour and pattern. She spent weeks in London researching trends, and could be found on manufacturing floors in remote areas of China.

Throughout these travels she always knew how unique her home is. The light, the summer heat, the beaches, the tropical flowers, mid night swims at the beach when it is too hot to sleep, glimpses of boats on the harbor as you zip around the city.

MARGOT a fresh interpretation on quintessentially Australian and Sydney experiences. Each collection is a bit about Margot and Sydney her home, which she loves.

Margot has done an amazing job with Blinds in Print collections and we are very happy to have her as a part of the team!
